Recently I redesigned my portfolio site, jongarcia.info. It’s been functional for a while, but minor things had to be corrected. With this redesign I thought of making both my portfolio and my weblog look the same or very similar, as the layout of one diverges a bit from the other they can’t look the same. Today, after a couple of days making changes, mistreating my already bad back in this shitty chair -I really hate it-, I managed to finish these changes. These are almost superficial changes, as the functionality and usability of this weblog keeps very similar -and this means bad, of course.-. I hope you like both of them and I encourage you to visit my portfolio and download my interactive portfolio from there only if you want to give me some work, obviously. Enjoy.

As many of you know, today is the day. San Fermín. The invaluable legacy of Hemingway to this festivities are very noticeable this days. Hordes of aussies, americans and french people with those red scarf and white tshirts are visible these days on the cities of the northern spain. Here almost every hour reaches a bus full of people coming from pamplona. And, hey, a year ago, I was there, on the first line of this wine war. That’s why these days I have envy of those who can go there and enjoy the best fiesta in the world. In a couple of days I’ll be there, I cannot wait.

El próximo martes día 11, el legendario pacifista Bob Dylan ofrecerá un concierto por la paz en Donostia-San Sebastián. Parece ser que esta organizado por la gente del jazzaldi fuera de las fechas habituales. Hasta aquí nada raro, de hecho, me parece una idea muy interesante. El mayor problema lo veo cuando salen los datos presupuestarios. Resulta que los presupuestos para el citado concierto vienen en su totalidad financiados por la Diputación foral de Gipuzkoa y por el Ayuntamiento de San Sebastián. Hasta ahi normal. Lo que no entiendo es que dicho presupuesto alcance los 100 millones de las antiguas pesetas -una barbaridad en mi opinión-, y más aún, que la mitad de dicho presupuesto se lo lleve nuestro fantástico filántropo, pacifista y excelentísima persona Bob Dylan.

Que ilógico me resulta. Si vas a destinar la mitad del presupuesto para un espectáculo. En mi opinión, si esto va a ser un espectáculo, deberian llevar a gente que cree espectáculo. Y señores, van y escogen a: Bob Dylan -lleva arrastrandose por los escenarios una década.-, Mikel Laboa -con todos mis respetos por ser vecino mío, pero ya no está para la música- y un grupo catalán, Macaco, que no conozco. Está claro que lo que querían eran nombres y no espectáculo. Bob Dylan, pacifista de toda la vida, recordado por su participación en el concierto por Bangladesh de Harrison, símbolo viviente de la paz. Mikel Laboa, comprometido, luchador por la cultura vasca a través de sus letras. Macaco, grupo catalán que viene a ser un guiño a la causa catalana. Esto no es un concierto señores. Es propaganda. Y bien cara.
